September Scraps

I have been really busy this month with work and my daughter been home for a few days on term break from University, but I have managed to complete the Monthly Scrap Challenge on Divine Digital.com. The challenge was to complete 10 different challenges from sixteen that was set. I also managed to complete a layout using the Divine Diva Deal of the week kits, for one of the August ones and also one of the September kits. I was trilled to achieved Member Layout of the day for both of them and two days in a row. The layouts and kits used etc are posted here.

This is a Kit from Aimee Harrison Design studios and I used it to create my layout for the ABC Challenge, the Letter this month was B.

The next Layout is for the Shape Challenge, The Challenge was to use Circles on the layout. I used a kit called SpringFrolic by Royanna Fritschmann RA Studios

This next Layout was done for one of the Divine Diva Deal of the Weeks, The kit used is Toddler Life by ScrapAlatte. With Divine Diva Deal of the week, if you post a layout to the gallery which was completed using the kit, you get a free addon from the designer, It is a great deal, considering the purchase price for the kit is on $2.00, so even if you only get one layout from a kit, it is a good deal, but as all of the Kits are fantastic, you will get heaps of layouts from each kit.

This kit has many beautiful papers

The next layout was done for the Use it or Lose it challenge, The mini kit is supplied free by the designer and you have to use all the papers and elements, This month the kit was supplied by KS Designs and coordinated with the Scooled by Numbers Kit. http://www.divinedigital.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5260

Getting tired now after a long day, so I will post more tomorrow

Have not posted for ages

I have not posted anything on here again for ages, but I have been true to my resolution a while ago to do at least one digital layout a day... Whilst I don't have a great souce of photos at the moment on the computer, I have been able to download a few from family and friends facebook photos. I am truly enjoying digital scrapbooking again and am sourcing some great new kits to use. Kits are so cheap to buy now, unlike a few years ago and there are some great designers around also.. I have been visiting a couple of old favoutites like pickleberrypop.com.au and scrapbook-bytes.com but I have also found some new ones that have kits that really like such as divinedigital.com and coolscrapsdigital.com that I have been buying from, In addition to my purchases these sites, offer lots of lovely freebies that help supplement my supplies. I have just entered into my first challenge in years also, and I am going to try and do it more often as it encourages me to think outside the square. This layout is from a lovely kit called Midsummer Journal by Optic Illusion from divinedigital and a great buy at $2 and as a bonus if you enter the challenge you will get a bonus download...

Steep Learning Curve

I am going through a steep learning curve - trying to remember how to manage this blog.

It has taken me about twelve hrs spread over three sessions to just get the previous post and photo up. Trouble is I learn one day and forget what I did the next day and have to try and learn all over again. LOL

Ok time to upload another layout done recently.

This time the Paper, Elements and wordart are from a kit by Ronna Penners, called Expressyourself. The photo is of my middle son and my nephew.

Layout as described below

The Beautiful paper and spray is from Studio Berna, Header from Ro Knepp Designs, Frame from Sudion Miki , all from the "Transformers KIt" available at ScrapbookingGraphics.com. Program used is Paint.net

New Motivation

It has been a long time since I have done any art work, especially layouts. Just over two years ago, I had a major incident in my life and it really set me back both mentally and physically for a long time. I am still not where I was before all this happened, but recently I got a new computer and it sort of motivated me to start doing some digital layouts again. I have not been able to get my photoshop version 7 working on my new 64bit computer, so I have had to make do with a couple of free programs, mainly paint.net and I have forgotten how to do a lot of things anyway, so it is a whole new learning experience all over again. I have mainly done some fairly simple layouts of my daughter, using photos of her taken when she was doing some modelling for The Vintage Now shop at Rosebud, she loves the fifties and sixties style of clothes and Linda the owner of the shop, loves the old fashioned stylish look of Sioban and uses her to model the clothes of that era she has for sale, whenever Sioban can get down from college for a few weeks. I have also used some of the photos taken of her at university functions.
